Maximus Thiessen

Calgary

I’m Maximus Thiessen, a designer and photographer based in Calgary, Alberta. Growing up in Barhead, Alberta, I developed a deep connection to the wide-open landscapes and quiet detail of small towns. As a high-performance runner, I made Team Canada, balancing my athletic drive with a growing passion for visual storytelling. After graduating from SAIT’s School of Interactive Design, specializing in graphic design, I picked up a camera by chance. One day at a track meet, I paused from racing to photograph my teammates, and in that instant, I fell in love with photography. Within a year of picking up the camera, I covered the Calgary Stampede and was soon appointed SAIT’s head photographer. I’m also a two-time Academic All-Canadian, a distinction I earned for excelling both as a student and an athlete. Today, I create work that spans graphic design, brand identity, digital experiences, and photography, partnering with clients like Dell and Sophos. My work is shaped by a lifelong commitment to precision, creativity, and capturing the essence of each moment.

I am an independent creative studio based in Calgary, crafting design, identity, and strategy that resonates. My work spans graphic design, brand identity, strategic positioning, product design, and digital experiences. We also specialize in photography, content creation, and event coverage.

Each project is a personal commitment, shaped by a passion for detail, a love of storytelling, and a focus on impact. I collaborate directly with clients to bring their visions to life, with a portfolio that spans a variety of industries and scales.
